Maun Shibir

More About Maun Shibir

Maun Shibir is for eleven days. Sadhak who have done the Prarmbhik Shibir can participate in this Shibir. Sadhaks are selected for this camp by Gurudev. In this shibir, the Sadhak has to be kept silent. In this shibir, the sadhak is made to experience Nijananda through silence. The true identity of God is felt in this shibir. Many seekers experience self-realization. Everyone must be aware that there is a lot of power in Maun. This Shibir is conducted at Om Tapovan Ashram only once a year for ten days.

Gurudev’s disciple in this Shibir comes with a moto for self-realization. Each disciple is allotted one individual room on a shared basis so he or she can meditate as per guided techniques. Guruji will teach each disciple how to achieve self-realization through meditation. During these 10 days, Guruji gives spandan to disciples and makes the nadis clean, through which their chakras are balanced.

  • In the Maun Shibir, the sadhak has to be silent with the mind, not the silence of the speech. Maun means complete silence from the mind (that there are no thoughts), the body (that no action is taken), and the soul (that has nothing else to do but be silent from within). Through silence, the sadhak realises the real truth of God.
  • Through silence, the true purpose of life is attained.
  • In Maun Shibir, to balance the gross and subtle body, kriyayog is practiced.
  • Silence purifies the body, soul, and thoughts.
  • Consciousness develops and deepens in silence. Through silence, the mind attains true peace.
  • The aura of the body becomes radiant through silence.
  • Through silence, the resolutions of the mind become firm.
  • Atmatattva means attainment of self-knowledge through silence.
